"One should either be a work of art or wear a work of art." My man Wilde.

Brought to you by Caracas-born Luis Alejandro Prieto Nóbrega, straight from China’s southern Guangzhou City, recently on display at the Plateno event in Shanghai.

Venezuelan optimism coated with some vibrantly colored varnish and revolutionary velure. Okay, enough already with the verbal squandering. Me gustan las colores. After all, what’s not to like? Art is to be loved, not understood.

I must reiterate that I am probably one of the most artistically challenged people around, hence any artisan trying to explain their vision to me is often squandering (word of the day, I guess) both time and breath. Yet if the paint is flashy enough, it’ll usually do the trick in my eyes. Judge a book by its cover, I do indeed. I can resist anything except temptation.

Prieto paints his life stories  based on a “system” which mixes different energies such as saints, (sinners), gods and feng shui. It uses psychological beliefs to comprehend both the good and bad in all; albeit people, animals or things. Skill, passion and trust are key to creating that unique and full fresco.

When it comes to “Art”, I’m just gonna roll with my main man Oscar:

“One should either be a work of art or wear a work of art.”
